about

These three string quartets of the Op. 50 cycle are both bright and full of humor, signed by a Haydn who juggles with thematic elements of an intense energy and very gentle. Small musical without words, peppered with winks backgrounds baroque, they hold the public spellbound by skilful instrumental challenges propelled by an underlying ostinato and announce the sovereign balance of Opus 76 that the Pražák Quartet has already brilliantly illustrated. The final component, known as The Frog, still the most famous of the cycle due to the game between the bold and provocative grotesque through an astonishing variety of expression within genus music deemed (wrongly!) austere.
