about

The Párkányí Quartet (formerly Orlando Quartet), which worked with Sándor Végh in Budapest, perpetuates the Hungarian tradition of interpretation in the classical repertory, from Haydn to Schubert, on line with their predecessors such as Emil Hauser and Joseph Roisman of the Budapest Quartet, Zoltán Székely of the Hungarian Quartet as well as the musicians of the Vegh Quartet. Recorded together for the ¬ first time, these three beautiful quartets illustrate a golden age of the art of the string quartet (1800-1817).

Awards: 4* by Le Monde de la Musique, 5 by Diapason, 9 by Classica-Répertoire, Opus d’Or
