I'm on my third listen and this album has real depth. Different passages keep leaping out at me, but I like the way it maintains a characteristic tone while being full of melodic, rhythmic and modal variety and even surprise. Really good. I wish I'd bought the CD. Peter Mason

The 15th is my favourite of the Shostakovich quartets, and a deeply sad, haunting work. I've got the Fitzwilliam Quartet's complete Shostakovich string quartets, so this is, at first glance, a bit of a superfluous buy. However, the Two Pieces that sit between the quartets on this album are new to me and add a new dimension to the composer's chamber music. Also, on second hearing, this seems to me a more spacious and steady performance than the Fitzwilliams' recording. Peter Mason

Difficult to name a favourite track, however if I was forced to choose an all time favourite album this would certainly be up there at the top. I'm in the UK but it was a friend in South Africa that introduced me to Gondwana. Absolutely beautiful album from start to finish, amazing musicians and composition both. Thank you, it inspires me to become a better musician. rai scott

5 tracks that will eat your soul. You can hear natural elements getting rolled up into a ball and eaten by field mice, only to be farted back out as one big colossal Italian kraut rock/ethereal blowout. Lots of space, lots of moments. Lots of grandiose psychoticisms, and devilish melodicisms... Good Menimals get let out of their cages... It's brilliant. Nerve Salad
