about

Prefered by Bruno Walter as heiress to Kathleen Ferrier, Maureen Forrester carried on a search for a true mahlerian style. Often with the baritone Heinz Rehfuss, she did justice to the ambivalence of the texts, associating in a delicate balance, adorned academicism with emotional bursts… A gorgeous tribute, not enough known, to her precursor and acme.
